Virginia Digital Microfilm Scanning Solution

Unlike standard microfilm scanning services, the Digital ReeL digital microfilm solution creates virtual, digital replicas of your entire microfilm roll, ensuring that no images are lost during the digital microfilm scanning process. The digital microfilm scanning process is completed at one of our secure, California facilities. Optional, on-site Virginia digital microfilm scanning is available for records that must stay in your facility.

The Digital ReeL digital microfilm scanning solution includes a software application that emulates microfilm retrieval from a reader printer. Users retrieve virtual microfilm rolls from a PC workstation, avoiding the hassles that come with physical microfilm and legacy reader printers.

Customers Nationwide Have Made Digital ReeL a Proven Solution

Digital ReeL customers include federal government agencies, state and local government departments and private companies. Virginia recorders, courts, law enforcement, title companies, insurance organizations and more can trust their Virginia digital microfilm scanning requirements to Digital ReeL.

A Unique Virginia Digital Microfilm Scanning Solution

  • Affordable Price: Digital ReeL is much less expensive (often 50% less) than traditional microfilm scanning methods, making it an ideal microfilm scanning solution for infrequently accessed microfilm archives.
  • Digital Microfilm Scanning Precision: Digital ReeL converts microfilm (microfiche and aperture cards are also supported) with complete accuracy because we scan the entire microfilm roll or fiche. Because we create a virtual, digital replica of your records, no individual images or details are lost. You'll have a digital representation of your entire archive, exactly as it appeared in the physical state.
  • Image Quality Using Adjustable Grayscale: users can adjust the contrast and brightness of every image to improve the quality of tough-to-read images prior to emailing, printing or saving. Watch a quick video to see this feature in action.

On Premise and Cloud Options Available

  • On Premise: After BMI completes the digital microfilm conversion service at our facility or at your site, your IT department stores and manages the digitally converted microfilm records and the Digital ReeL application. Users access records from a computer workstation(s) through the Digital ReeL interface.
  • Digital ReeL Cloud Option: BMI completes not only the digital microfilm conversion service, but also stores your digitally converted records at our secure data center. Users simply log into the Internet and access their images from the Digital ReeL web interface. Combining Digital ReeL with BMI's Document Hosting Service is ideal for organizations that do not want to incur an up-front capital expenditure or want to avoid the hassle of purchasing servers, storage and the IT resources to manage the ongoing system.

Secure Facilities

Digital ReeL's Virginia digital microfilm scanning service is completed at one of BMI Imaging's two HIPAA-compliant secure facilities. On-site microfilm scanning options are available if your records cannot leave your location. You can be sure that your records will be in good hands at our facility. Each one of our production facilities includes alarm and sprinkler systems, remote monitoring, fire-suppression equipment and tightly controlled facility access. Site visits are always welcomed.

Indexing and Search

Digital ReeL supports your existing micrographic indexing methodology. Book and page, case number, roll and frame and more are example indexing methodologies supported by Digital ReeL. Even multiple indexing methodologies can be accommodated. Digital ReeL includes full-text searching capabilities to enable users to easily find words, key phrases and numbers across your digital archive.
