At BMI, we utilize our experience to analyze your needs and compare them to a variety of automatic and manual data capture options before recommending the best solution.

Automatic Index Capture

By utilizing the latest technologies, BMI can quickly, accurately and cost effectively capture the required information for your indexing needs.

  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Zonal OCR, Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) - we employ advanced and proprietary algorithms to retrieve specific information from unstructured documents
  • Forms recognition and forms processing - information extraction from structured forms (e.g. Internet forms, email, XML, files, digital images)
  • Barcode recognition – detecting barcode on the scanned page for index information

Manual Data Entry

With poor quality and/or handwritten documents, it is not always possible to automatically capture the indexing information. BMI has a staff of skilled data entry operators who key the index data from the scanned images. We provide blind double key verification for near 100% accuracy. In this process, two different key operators key the same information and a 3rd party adjudicates the data. Any difference in what was keyed is resolved.

Data Delivery & Import File Creation

Regardless of the source, BMI can collect, perfect and export the data, delivering it into back-end systems such as databases, workflow, and document and content management applications. BMI has an in-house programming staff that can format images and index data to be compatible with almost all popular applications and proprietary systems.
