Ohio Digital Microfilm Solution

Digital ReeL is a complete digital microfilm conversion solution. BMI will convert your microfilm to virtual, digital microfilm rolls at one of our secure facilities (optional, on-site option available). Our Ohio digital microfilm conversion solution creates a digital microfilm replica of your original microfilm - the entire microfilm roll is digitally converted. The Digital ReeL digital microfilm solution includes a software application that replicates microfilm retrieval from a reader printer. Users retrieve virtual, digital microfilm rolls from a PC workstation, avoiding the hassles of physical microfilm and legacy reader printers.

What Makes Digital ReeL Unique?

  • Affordable Price: Digital ReeL is priced 50% less than standard microfilm conversion methods (ideal for infrequently accessed microfilm archives). The reason for this is because we leverage your existing micrographic indexing methodology, eliminating costly manual indexing steps.
  • Digital Microfilm Conversion Accuracy: Digital ReeL converts microfilm with near 100% accuracy because the entire microfilm roll is converted - no images or details are lost, digitally preserving your microfilm exactly as they appeared in their physical state.
  • Image Quality: Adjustable grayscale enables users to optimize the quality of tough-to-read images. Watch a quick video to see this feature in action.

Indexing and Search of Digital Microfilm Files

Digital ReeL combines full-text searching capabilities with the utilization of your existing indexing methodology to enable users to quickly find information. Digital ReeL supports your existing micrographic indexing methodology. Roll and frame, book and page, case number and more are example indexing methodologies supported by Digital ReeL. Even multiple indexing methodologies can be accommodated by the Digital ReeL Ohio digital microfilm solution.

Cloud Option and On Premise Installation Available

Digital ReeL Cloud Option: BMI completes not only the microfilm conversion service, but also stores your digitally converted records at our secure data center. Users simply log into the Internet and access their images from the Digital ReeL web interface. Combining Digital ReeL with BMI's Document Hosting Service is ideal for organizations that do not want to incur an up-front capital expenditure or want to avoid the hassle of purchasing servers, storage and the IT resources to manage the ongoing system.

Digital ReeL On Premise: After BMI completes the Ohio digital microfilm conversion service at our facility or at your site, your IT department stores and manages the digitally converted microfilm records and the Digital ReeL application. Users access records from a computer workstation(s) through the Digital ReeL interface.

Secure Microfilm Conversion Facilities

Digital ReeL's digital microfilm conversion service is completed at one of BMI Imaging's two HIPAA-compliant secure facilities (optional on-site conversion is available). To ensure the safety of your information while in our hands, each one of our production facilities includes alarm and sprinkler systems, fire-suppression equipment, remote monitoring and tightly controlled facility access.
