New York Microfilm Scanning Solution

Digital ReeL is a total microfilm scanning solution available to New York government agencies and private companies. BMI will convert your microfilm to virtual, digital microfilm rolls at one of our secure, Northern California facilities (optional, on-site option is available). The Digital ReeL microfilm scanning service creates a digital replica of your physical microfilm rolls or microfiche. Users retrieve records via the virtual microfilm rolls and the Digital ReeL user application. Digital ReeL's interface looks just like a reader printer - only now users retrieve virtual microfilm rolls from a PC workstation, avoiding the hassles that come with physical microfilm and legacy reader printers.

Digital ReeL customers include federal government agencies, state and local government departments and private companies. County recorders, courts, law enforcement, title companies, insurance organizations and more have come to trust their records to Digital ReeL.

What Makes Digital ReeL Unique?

  • Affordable Price: Traditional New York microfilm scanning services come at extremely high costs, making it very difficult to find the budget to scan an entire microfilm or microfiche archive at once. Digital ReeL is priced 50% less than classic microfilm scanning methods, making it ideal if you want to digitally convert infrequently accessed microfilm archives at one time.
  • Microfilm Scanning Accuracy: Digital ReeL converts microfilm, microfiche and aperture cards with near 100% accuracy because the entire microfilm roll or microfiche is converted. Classic microfilm scanning services that dissociate each individual, digital record from the microfilm roll; as a result images can get missed. No images or details are lost with the Digital ReeL microfilm scanning process because we convert the entire microfilm roll, microfiche or aperture card. Your records appear exactly as they did in their physical state.
  • Image Quality: Adjustable grayscale is included, enabling users to adjust the contrast and brightness of every image. Users can optimize even the toughest-to-read images.

On Premise Installations and Hosted Options Available

  • On Premise: Your IT department will install and manage the Digital ReeL application for your digitally converted microfilm, microfiche and aperture card records. Users access records from a computer workstation(s) through an installable, Digital ReeL application or the Digital ReeL web interface.
  • Hosted Option: BMI completes the New York microfilm scanning service and then stores your digitally converted microfilm rolls at our secure data center. Users log into the Internet and access their digital records from the Digital ReeL web interface. Combining Digital ReeL with BMI's Document Hosting is an ideal choice for organizations that wish to avoid up-front capital expenditures or who simply want to relieve themselves of the hassle of purchasing servers, storage and the IT resources to manage the ongoing system.

Secure Facilities
