Digital ReeL - A Microfiche Conversion Solution for New York Area Companies and Government Agencies

Digital ReeL is a microfiche conversion solution that is ideal for infrequently accessed microfiche and microfilm roll records for New York area companies and organizations. BMI Imaging will convert your physical microfiche records to virtual, digital microfiche at one of our secure facilities located in Northern California. On-site microfiche conversion options are also available. The Digital ReeL microfiche conversion solution starts with the conversion of the entire microfiche - a virtual, digital replica is created. The Digital ReeL microfiche conversion solution includes a software application that emulates microfiche retrieval from a physical reader printer. Users access virtual microfiche from a PC workstation, avoiding the hassles that come with physical microfiche and legacy reader printers.

What Makes Digital ReeL a Unique Microfiche Conversion Solution?

  • Affordable Price: Digital ReeL is priced 50% less than typical microfiche conversion services, making it an ideal solution for infrequently accessed microfiche archives.
  • Microfiche Conversion Accuracy: Digital ReeL converts microfiche, microfilm and aperture cards with 100% accuracy because the entire microfiche is digitally converted. No images or details are lost, digitally preserving your microfiche, microfilm and aperture cards exactly as they appeared in their physical state.
  • Image Quality: Infrequently accessed microfiche archives often contain images that are tough-to-read, even illegible. Digital ReeL includes adjustable grayscale so that the image quality of your entire archive is enhanced during the microfiche conversion process. Users can adjust the contrast and brightness of every digital record. Digital ReeL can enhance even the toughest-to-read images.

On Premise Installations and Hosted Options Available

  • On Premise: After BMI completes the microfiche conversion process, we deliver the digital microfiche records and the Digital ReeL application to your organization's IT department. Digital ReeL is then installed and your IT department manages the servers and storage that store your digitally converted microfiche records. Users access records from a computer workstation(s) through an installable, Digital ReeL application or the Digital ReeL web interface.
  • Hosted Option: BMI completes the New York microfiche conversion process and then stores your digitally converted records at our secure data center. Users access the digital microfiche records using the Internet, logging into the Digital ReeL web client. Combining Digital ReeL with BMI's Document Hosting Service is ideal for organizations that want to avoid the hassles of purchasing servers, storage and the IT resources to manage the ongoing system.
