The Digital ReeL New Jersey Microfiche Scanning Solution

Digital ReeL is an ideal microfiche scanning solution for New Jersey government agencies and commercial organizations. BMI Imaging will scan your microfiche and microfilm rolls to digital, virtual microfiche and microfilm rolls at one of our secure facilities (optional, on-site option available). The Digital ReeL microfiche scanning solution includes a software application that looks like a standard reader printer enabling users to avoid the troubles that come with physical microfiche and microfilm. Digital ReeL is less expensive than alternative microfiche scanning services on the market, making it the most practical method to convert legacy microfiche and microfilm records into the digital age.

What Makes Digital ReeL a Unique Microfiche Scanning Solution?

  • Affordable price: 50% less than standard microfiche scanning methods, Digital ReeL is ideal for infrequently accessed microfiche and microfilm archives.
  • Microfiche scanning accuracy: Digital ReeL converts microfiche, microfilm and aperture cards with near 100% accuracy because the entire microfiche or microfilm roll is converted. No images are lost, digitally preserving your microfiche just as they appeared in their physical state.
  • Image quality: Built-in, adjustable grayscale is included with Digital ReeL so that users can adjust the contrast and brightness of every image. Even the toughest-to-read images can be optimized with Digital ReeL.

Hosted Option and On Premise Installation Available

Hosted Option: BMI completes the Trenton, New Jersey microfiche scanning service and then stores your digitally converted records at our secure data center. Users log into the Internet (e.g. Internet Explorer) and access their images from the Digital ReeL web interface. This option is ideal for organizations that do not want to incur an up-front capital expenditure and dedicate IT resources to manage the ongoing system.

On Premise: Your organization's IT department installs the Digital ReeL application and manages the IT infrastructure that stores your digitally converted microfiche, microfilm and aperture card records. Users access records from a computer workstation(s) through the Digital ReeL application or the Digital ReeL web interface.
