Microfilm Conversion Solution for Washington D.C., Virginia and Maryland

Digital ReeL is a complete microfilm conversion solution that supports microfilm, microfiche and aperture cards. Digital ReeL includes not only the conversion of your microfilm archive, but also a no charge search and retrieval application that is built specifically to replicate the look and feel of a standard, physical reader printer.

There are virtually no training requirements because users access images in exactly the same way as they do with your existing, physical microfilm archive. Digital ReeL comes with a web browser option that enables users to retrieve images from the Internet. In addition, Digital ReeL is offered as a hosted application - organizations can store images with BMI Imaging, enabling users to access digital records from the Digital ReeL web interface.

Digital ReeL has over 100 customers, including federal government, state and local government and a host of private organizations. Federal agencies, county recorders, courts, law enforcement and more have come to trust their records to Digital ReeL.

The Digital ReeL Microfilm Conversion Service

BMI Imaging offers HIPPA-compliant, secure facilities where all microfilm conversion services are provided (conversion at your site is also available). During the Digital ReeL microfilm conversion process, a precise digital replica is created of each microfilm roll, microfiche or aperture card. Digital ReeL converts microfilm, microfiche and aperture cards with 100% microfilm conversion accuracy because the entire roll or card is converted. Your microfilm rolls, microfiche and aperture cards are digitally preserved exactly as they appeared in their physical state.

The Digital ReeL Software Interface

Once BMI converts your microfilm archive to digital, users can access records in the same way as they accessed the records from the physical rolls or cards - only now using a computer workstation. The Digital ReeL interface makes it easy for users to find the exact roll or card and then scroll back and forth just as they would when sitting at a standard reader printer.

From there, users can save, print or email records as TIFF or PDF documents. In addition, users can redact information directly from the interface as necessary. With Digital ReeL, your microfilm archives are accessible quickly and conveniently, saving hours of retrieval time.
