Digital ReeL: Microfilm Conversion Service and Software Application

Digital ReeL is a complete microfilm conversion solution that includes the conversion of your microfilm archive (on-site or at BMI's secure microfilm conversion service facilities) and an application that replicates the look of a typical, physical reader printer. Users access digital microfilm rolls in exactly the same way as they would with a physical reader printer - which equals little-to-no-training requirements. The Digital ReeL Microfilm Conversion Service

The microfilm conversion service is performed at one of BMI's HIPPA-compliant, secure facilities. Customers nationwide have relied on BMI imaging for their microfilm conversion requirements. BMI offers several delivery options for our clients (including BRINKS Global Services). On-site microfilm conversion services are also available.

During the Digital ReeL microfilm conversion process, a digital replica is created of each microfilm roll (microfiche and aperture cards are also supported). Because the entire microfilm roll is digitally converted, you can be sure that your information is converted with near-100% accuracy. You'll have a digital microfilm archive that looks exactly as your microfilm rolls looked in their physical state.

The Digital ReeL Software Application

Users can access your digital records in the same way as they accessed records from the physical microfilm rolls - only now using a computer workstation. The Digital ReeL interface makes it easy for users to find the exact microfilm roll and then scroll back and forth just as they would when sitting at a physical reader printer. Users can save, print or email records as TIFF or PDF documents. Users can also redact information directly from the interface as necessary.
