The Ideal Michigan Digital Microfilm Solution

Digital ReeL is a complete digital microfilm conversion solution, ideal for legacy microfilm archives that contain difficult to read images. BMI Imaging will convert your microfilm to virtual, digital microfilm rolls at one of our secure facilities. On-site digital microfilm services are available. We create a digital microfilm replica of your original microfilm - the entire microfilm roll (or microfiche) is digitally converted. Digital ReeL includes a software application that emulates microfilm retrieval from a reader printer. Users retrieve digital microfilm rolls from a PC workstation, thus eliminating the hassles that come with physical microfilm and legacy reader printers.

Digital ReeL customers include federal government agencies, state and local government departments and private companies. County recorders, courts, law enforcement, title companies, educational institutions, insurance organizations and more have come to trust their records to the Digital ReeL Michigan digital microfilm solution.

Digital ReeL is a Unique Digital Microfilm Solution

  • Affordable (Often 50% Less Than Other Solutions): Digital ReeL leverages your existing micrographic indexing methodology, avoiding much of the costly indexing processes that come with a standard microfilm scanning solution.
  • Digital Microfilm Conversion Accuracy: Digital ReeL converts microfilm with near 100% accuracy. The entire microfilm roll is converted - no images or details are lost, digitally preserving your microfilm exactly as they appeared in their physical state.
  • Adjustable Grayscale Image Quality: This feature is standard with all Digital ReeL solutions and enables users to optimize the quality of tough-to-read images. Watch a quick video to see this feature in action.

Indexing and Search of Your Digitized Microfilm

Digital ReeL utlizes your existing indexing methodology to enable users to quickly find information in the same way they did in the physical world. Book and page, case number, roll and frame, and more are example indexing methodologies supported by Digital ReeL. Even multiple indexing methodologies can be accommodated. Digital ReeL also includes full-text searching capabilities to complement your existing indexing schema, making it easy for users to locate words, phrases and numbers within the virtual, digital microfilm archive.

On Premise and Cloud Options Available

  • On Premise: After BMI completes the digital microfilm service at our facility (or at your site), your IT department stores and manages the digitally converted microfilm records and the Digital ReeL application. Users access records from a computer workstation(s) through the Digital ReeL interface.
  • Digital ReeL Cloud Option: BMI completes the digital microfilm conversion service and then stores your converted records at our secure data center. Users log into the Internet and access their images from the Digital ReeL web interface. Combining Digital ReeL with BMI's Document Hosting Service is perfect for organizations that do not want to incur an up-front capital expenditure or want to avoid the hassle of purchasing servers, storage and the IT resources to manage the ongoing system.

Secure Digital Conversion Facilities

Digital ReeL's digital microfilm conversion service is completed at one of BMI Imaging's two secure facilities (optional on-site conversion is available). To ensure the safety of your information while in our hands, each one of our production facilities includes alarm and sprinkler systems, fire-suppression equipment, remote monitoring and tightly controlled facility access.
