Massachusetts Digital Microfilm Solution from BMI Imaging

Digital ReeL is a complete Massachusetts digital microfilm scanning solution - a microfilm scanning service performed by BMI Imaging that includes a software viewer. BMI Imaging will convert your microfilm (and microfiche) records to virtual, digital microfilm rolls. If your microfilm can't leave your facility, Massachusetts on-site options are available. Our Massachusetts digital microfilm scanning service creates digital replicas of your original, physical microfilm rolls.

The Digital ReeL digital microfilm scanning solution includes a software viewer that emulates microfilm retrieval from a reader printer. Users retrieve virtual microfilm from a PC workstation, avoiding the hassles that come with physical microfilm and legacy reader printers.

Cloud Option and On Premise Installations Available

  • Digital ReeL Cloud Option: BMI completes not only the Massachusetts digital microfilm scanning service, but then also stores your digitally converted records at our secure data center. Users access images by logging into the Internet, accessing images from the Digital ReeL web viewer. Digital ReeL Cloud Option is perfect for organizations that do not want to incur an up-front capital expenditure and want to avoid the hassles of managing servers, storage and IT.
  • On Premise Option: After BMI Imaging completes the digital microfilm scanning service, we'll deliver your digital, virtual microfilm records along with the Digital ReeL application to your IT department. From there, your IT department will store and manage your digitally converted microfiche records. Users access records from a computer workstation(s) through the Digital ReeL interface.

Indexing and Search

Digital ReeL combines full-text searching capabilities with the support of your existing micrographic indexing methodology to enable users to quickly find information. Book and page, case number, roll and frame and more are example indexing methodologies supported by Digital ReeL. Even multiple micrographic indexing methodologies can be accommodated.

Secure Scanning Facilities

Digital ReeL's digital microfilm scanning service is completed at one of BMI Imaging's two HIPAA-compliant secure facilities (optional Massachusetts on-site digital microfilm scanning is available). To ensure the safety of your information while in our hands, each one of our production facilities includes alarm and sprinkler systems, fire-suppression equipment, remote monitoring and tightly controlled facility access.

Digital ReeL customers include federal government agencies, state and local government departments and private companies.
