Los Angeles, California Microfilm Scanning Solution

Digital ReeL is a total microfilm scanning solution. BMI Imaging converts your microfilm to virtual, digital microfilm rolls at one of our secure, Northern California facilities. If you require on-site microfilm scanning, we can bring our team to your building. BMI's Digital ReeL microfilm scanning service creates a digital replica of your original microfilm (or microfiche).

The Digital ReeL microfilm scanning solution includes a software application that emulates microfilm retrieval from a reader printer. Your users retrieve digital microfilm rolls from a computer, avoiding the hassles that come with physical microfilm and legacy reader printers.

Digital ReeL customers include federal government agencies, California state and local government departments and private companies. County recorders, courts, law enforcement, title companies, educational institutions, insurance organizations and more have come to trust their records to the Digital ReeL Los Angeles, California microfilm scanning solution.

Digital ReeL is Unique From Typical Los Angeles Microfilm Scanning Services

  • Affordable and Practical: Digital ReeL is much less than standard microfilm scanning methods because we take advantage of your existing indexing methodology. Digital ReeL is well suited for infrequently accessed microfilm archives.
  • Microfilm Scanning Accuracy: Digital ReeL scans microfilm (and microfiche and aperture cards) with certainty because the entire microfilm roll is scanned; no details or images from a microfilm roll are skipped or lost during the microfilm scanning process. We create a digitally preserved copy of your microfilm rolls exactly as they appear in their physical state.
  • Image Quality: Adjustable grayscale is included. Adjustable grayscale gives users the ability to optimize the quality of tough-to-read images. Watch a quick video to see this feature in action.

Indexing and Search

Digital ReeL combines full-text searching capabilities with your existing indexing methodology. Case number, book and page, CAR systems, roll and frame and more are example indexing methodologies supported by Digital ReeL.

On Premise and Cloud Options Available

  • Digital ReeL On Premise: After BMI completes the microfilm scanning service at our Northern California facility (or at your site), we deliver the digitally converted records and the Digital ReeL application to your IT department. Your users then access records from a computer workstation(s) through the Digital ReeL interface.
  • Digital ReeL Cloud Option: BMI completes the microfilm scanning service at our Northern California facility and then stores your digitally converted records at our secure data center. Combining Digital ReeL with BMI's Document Hosting Service is ideal for organizations that do not want to incur an up-front capital expenditure or want to avoid the hassles of IT. Users access needed records over the Internet through the Digital ReeL web interface.

Secure Facilities

Digital ReeL's microfilm scanning service is completed at one of BMI Imaging's two Northern California, secure facilities.  To ensure the safety of your information while in our facility, each one of our buildings has alarm and sprinkler systems, fire-suppression equipment, remote monitoring and tightly controlled facility access.
